I am a science communicator and marine ecologist with an MS in Biological Sciences, and a BA in Psychology, as well as a BS in Marine Biology. I REALLY love invertebrates – anything that lives in the ocean and doesn’t have a backbone! My passion for all things science has taken me from my master’s degree research in Indonesia, to being a technician in Hawai’i, and then to tertiary level teaching. I also have an interest in terrestrial biology and am a qualified Level-1 nature guide through FGASA (Field Guide Association of South Africa). I love to write about science and conservation issues, and dabble in photography, both under- and above, water. I am currently an Editor with The Marine Diaries, and I teach at the University of Tampa and Hillsborough Community College.
